GA Launch

The sea of changes took place in General Accident Ins Co Kenya Ltd, ever since it became part of banking giants I & M Group in 2005.In a span of five years the company had a phenomenal growth of 200%. The change of management in 2007 further accelerated the growth by 25% annually helping the company to reposition in the league of leading insurance companies in Kenya. The year 2009 was a milestone in the history of the Company, crossing one billion mark in gross premium. This called for re branding General accident Ins (K) Ltd in to GA Insurance in 2009. It involved renaming with new logo in vibrant colours depicting its dynamism and commitment to its vision as driven by The Board. The launch of GA Insurance on 3rd of Sept 2009 was arranged at I & M Bank lawns on 2nd Ngong Road.

The chief guest Mr. Stephen Mainda, The chairman Insurance Regulatory Authority Kenya unveiled the new logo and the name. Executive director, Mr. Sachit Shah welcomed the guests and invitees while narrating the success story of General Accident Insurance ever since the take over. CEO Mr. Vijay Srivastava detailed the need for re-branding and its significance. Ms. Atia Yahya, head of Health Insurance division, launched new and innovative Health Insurance product Changmka and briefed the guests and invitees on its benefits. The Chief Guest of the evening Mr. Mainda outlined the role of IRA and appreciated the evolution of General Accident Insurance in to GA Insurance Ltd, and wished greater success in its endeavour. He also lauded the efforts of GA Insurance in introducing Changmaka that caters the basic health insurance to micro level at an affordable price. The launch was well attended by the GA intermediaries, customers and well wishers.
