1. Technology Investment

(a) General

Modern integrated online General Insurance software application PREMIA is being implemented to provide efficient service. This application will enhance the document presentation and will provide timely and correct information to customers.

(b) Health

Medi-claim application is being implemented to cater for servicing of the Health Insurance business. This state of the art application will enable customers to access medical services efficiently. Online data capture will enable quicker services and faster claim settlement to both customers and our service providers.

Both systems make use of all tools of new age communication reinforced by our products innovation, administrative efficiency and risk management capabilities.

2. Health Division

GA has established a fully-fledged Health Insurance Division. The division is fully operational offering products with endless options. We have taken every effort to ensure that most of the contentious issues are taken care of. We are not only insuring health in the best possible way but also providing you with excellent service.

Investment Goals & Objectives:

The core of investment is limited to relatively low-risk securities in anticipation to earning a fair return relative to the risk being assumed.

The primary and secondary objectives, in order of priority, of the investment activities are as follows:

• GA’s investment programme is designed to ensure safety of the principal. For this to be achieved, GA diversifies its investments among a variety of securities and financial institutions offering independent returns ensuring preservation of capital in the overall portfolio.
  
  
• Given GA’s profile of liabilities, sufficient assets of appropriate nature, term and liquidity are held to enable it to meet the liabilities as they become due. Thus, investment management is performed as part of the overall asset liability management of the insurer keeping in mind the interest of all our stakeholders.

Claims Management:

GA is known and has acquired its credibility in the market with prompt settlement of claims. This year, we achieved our ambition in installing a state of the art system that enables us to monitor all outstanding claims on regular basis. GA’s claims department has the most efficient team ensuring and continually improving the service standards. GA is evolving into new generation company providing solutions to the contemporary business environment.

Reinsurance Support:

Our lead Reinsurers are Africa RE and General Insurance Corporation of India who are both rated as “A” by AM BEST of USA. Other Reinsurers are Kenya Re, PTA Re and East Africa Re.
